What is ChainWins?
ChainWins is a decentralized Web3 lottery on the Polygon blockchain. It's a fun and transparent way to win POL while supporting causes that matter.
Is ChainWins safe?
Yes. All funds are held in public smart contracts, and winners are chosen using Chainlink VRF — a secure, verifiable source of randomness.
How do I play?
Connect your Web3 wallet (e.g., MetaMask) and choose either the 1 POL or 100 POL lottery. Click “Play,” approve the transaction, and you’re entered!
How are winners selected?
Winners are selected using Chainlink VRF, which provides provably fair randomness. No one can manipulate the results — not even us.
Where can I see the prize pool?
The current prize pools are visible on-chain:
Do you support good causes?
Yes! A portion of each ticket supports social and environmental impact. In the future, players will vote on which causes to support.
What are your values?
ChainWins is powered by the Vacuum Foundation and the spirit of the VfSE Lottery. We believe in transparency, service, fairness, and joy.
What is POL and how do I get it?
POL is the native token of Polygon. You can acquire POL on major exchanges and withdraw directly to the Polygon network, or bridge from Ethereum if needed.
- Buy POL on an exchange, then withdraw to your Polygon address.
- Already have assets on Ethereum? Use an official bridge to move funds to Polygon.
- Keep a small amount of POL for gas fees (transactions are typically very low).
How do I switch my wallet to Polygon?
Most wallets (like MetaMask) can auto‑switch when prompted. If not, add Polygon manually using these settings or use the “Add Network” flow in your wallet.
- Network: Polygon Mainnet
- Chain ID:
137(hex0x89) - Currency: POL (18 decimals)
- RPC:
https://polygon-rpc.com - Explorer:
https://polygonscan.com
What fees should I expect?
Polygon gas fees are usually just fractions of a cent. You only pay standard network fees and the lottery ticket price — no hidden platform fees.
When does a draw happen?
Each lottery runs on a 24‑hour cycle once at least two players have joined. The countdown starts when the second player buys a ticket. After 24 hours, the next ticket purchase triggers the draw instantly.
What if Chainlink VRF is delayed?
Very rarely, network congestion may slow VRF callbacks. If this happens, the draw will finalize as soon as the VRF proof arrives, and the winner’s prize is sent immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Transaction failed: Ensure you’re on Polygon, have enough POL for the ticket + a tiny gas fee, and try again.
- Stuck on “Connecting”: In your wallet, approve the connection/permissions prompt and refresh the page.
- Wrong network: Switch to Polygon Mainnet (ID 137) in your wallet settings.
- It’s slow: Check network status; retry after a minute if the chain is busy.
